The Iraqi Resistance crushed a powerful American attack mounted against al-Jawlan neighborhood, according to Mafkarat al-Islam’s correspondent in the besieged city. The American assault began after sunrise on Monday and finally met its end as evening set in, the correspondent and eyewitness wrote in a report posted at 00:02 on the morning of Tuesday, 27 April 2004.

10. Because we haven't razed the place
If this were WWII, the US would hold the town. Half the residents would be dead and the other half would be homeless, but we would control the town.

The fact that we don't fight that way anymore is the number one reason we should not get involved in wars with people who don't pose a direct threat.

The original poster is right. We leveled places, no questions asked. Destroying cities and vilages was part of the process. Remember carpet bombing? That's what it's used for.

15. Or Americans or Brits or Russians
It was total war by all sides.

But that's neither here nor there. We shouldn't be there in the first place.
