3. McCain was upset about people using the term Chickenhawks in congress. . .
. . .and Reid stood up and agreed but reminded him that if the administration is going to question Kerry's service it might happen.

but standing up to defend these cowards, who have lied to send our troops into harm's way, is too much for me. I have no love for McCain right now. NONE.

23. I have no love for McCain, either.
My appreciation of him died when he rolled over and became one of bush's "boys" again - after the bush campaign completely eviscerated him for having an adopted child with dark skin - insinuating that he'd fathered a black child out of wedlock, when he and his wife had adopted a baby from Pakistan. Just utter shit. So they besmirch his marriage, his wife, and their child in order to smear him. And what does he do? Does he speak out? Does he stand up for his marriage and kid? Does he smack back at the bushies for attacking his wife and child and dragging them as innocents into the muck? When the bushies whine and complain about the two drunken disorderly humiliations they call daughters being in the news?

And no, he is NOT redeemed by "defending" Kerry - if you can call that milquetoast endorsement a defense. McCain should do the correct thing and tell bush where he can stick it. Sorry, but I've lost all respect for McCain for rolling over like that. If I were his wife, I'd be a mess about it. Wake up, McCain. bush is NOT your friend.

16. i'm sorry, but i'm upset at McCain right now
i know he defended kerry also. but he went out calling for bipartisanship and other crap only because the bush people asked him to. he should have condemned and called on bush to condemn the attacks on kerry's service. only when we started fighting back does he do this. and then goes into all this crap about his other bipartisan friend lieberman and other shit.

11. Does chickenhawk specifically refer to someone who avoided service
during wartime and promotes military action now or does it apply to anyone who just never served in the services even during peacetime and who now advocates military action.

18. IMHO
Chicken - didn't serve
Hawk - wants others to serve

You have to have both to be a chickenhawk, I would think.

31. Advocators who never served....IMHO
People who love to accuse others of being unpatriotic for criticizing war, either legal or illegal, but who never joined the military or who avoided combat at all costs with the help of their privileged status.

floor to denounce Kerry, with some even calling him "Hanoi John?" Now that the Dems are hitting back, they want to remove BOTH candidates' Vietnam records from the pres race because Kerry's record makes bush look like the fucking coward he is and always has been? Why? So bush can continue to prance around calling himself a "war president" while his TV ads and his surrogates pound on Kerry for "not supporting the troops in Iraq" and "voting against body armour etc," safe in the knowledge that anything dealing with Vietnam is now off the table?

No fucking way!

McCain is a fucking R POS.

He rolled over for Bush in 2000.
He's worried that the fights in Congress might get real
instead of being staged.

McCain says we should stop calling people "chickenhawks". Harry Reid counters that the Bushies started this shit (with all due respect).

McCain lamenting that the Senate is mired in "partisan gridlock".

17. Now Bush and his fellow Neocon's need McCain ????
John McCain is the only Republican that all Americans know and recognize as being a Vietnam Veteran/POW. The Republicans and the Neocon's viciously slandered him and his family. They attacked his POW status, branding him as a traitor. They harped on his inability to get along with his fellow Republicans and he was one angry, disturbed man. They had no trouble attacking Max Cleland, Vietnam Veteran, triple amputee, and comparing him with Saddam and calling him a traitor.

Now they need McCain to call off any attacks against these very same "Chickenhawks," that slandered him.

Do ya think the pig crap is beginning to stick????

24. Lets just for a second apply some neo-con logic to McCain's ...
POW stint. If we use their logic then we could say that McCain took the easy way out of Nam by being shot down. Think of all the combat he avoided while lounging around in a POW camp.

26. Ain't it the truth?
The Repug will stoop to any low with their attacks, but when someone starts coming back at them, all the sudden it's wah, wah, wah, now's not the time for such divisive stuff, boo hoo hoo.

The answer to this kind of whining is this: NOW, when our soldiers and marines are fighting and dying and losing limbs is THE EXACT time we should be examining the leadership's moral authority or lack thereof.

The Repugs do politics the same way they do war. When they call for a "cease fire" you better watch out, because they're getting in position to snipe and bomb the sh*t out of you.

22. bi partisan i wonder why
is bush going to untaint kerry. if not, kerry has no choice but to clear his name, i beg your pardon, firstly

representatives themselves stood on floor trashing kerry and his record. they contaminated the place

third, ...........i believe condi rice just had a closed door with only repug representatives talking situation in iraq leaving out half the house, (democrats) who have heir own obligation of being a part of the process

so when mccain starts addressing his own people, adn correcting the wrongs, then he can be nediator.

these repugs really all have to learn about diplomacy, see how poorly they do world wide, cause they dont get it

30. Dems can't call Repugs "Chickenhawks" on the floor of the Senate ...
but it's perfectly alright for Repugs to use that same floor, as well as the floor of the House, to bash Kerry, Richard Clarke and anyone else who dares to question Bushco*! :grr: They call people "liars" without offering any evidence, they call people "unpatriotic" because they have an opinion that differs from the GOP party line, they call people "terrorists" simply because they exercise their Constitutional right of free speech and dissent.

I am so sick of these people. Their tactics and beliefs have absolutely nothing to do with Democracy, patriotism and freedom. They're playing by the same playbook that every other totalitarian regime played by.

Shut the f*ck up McCain! If you can't question your own party when they're doing something that's wrong for the country, don't you dare question ours!

38. It sure does.
Truth hurts. But if the shoe fits, wear it. There's a whole wardrobe (WARdrobe?) of shoes that will fit them rather nicely at the moment.

They're betraying themselves as the bullies they are. Bullies are cowards. They talk tough and rough you up at will and hope you cower and tremble at their bluster. But if you stand up to them and hit back, they run screaming and sniveling into the night. As I've said to every republi-CON whose office I've called this morning (about 5 of 'em, I think) - let's see GEORGE'S war medals from 'Nam, shall we? How 'bout it? Bring 'em on, 'eh?

They can put up, or SHUT UP. And they need to be called on it. They need to know we're ONTO THEM and that we see through their bullshit. That's why LittleApple and others are SO VERY CORRECT when they urge that these people be called and complained to. We need to make a stink about it. They need to know that everybody is NOT in lockstep with them on this. Or much else, either, for that matter.
