Anyone notice the Kerry protest story is going a little quiet?
Could it be that they didn't expect turn-about on the AWOL issue?

This could work give it back times 2. Perhaps Kerry should start working on the flip-flop crap, I swear they used that as an issue in an attempt to take the issue away from Kerry as it pertains to Chimp.

1. If you call any republi-CONS' offices (I heartily recommend it!)
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 12:25 PM by calimary
They get off the phone QUICK when you make this point. I called Mitch McConnell, Trent Lott, Bill Frist, McCain, and a few others this morning. All I had to say was "hey - let's see bush's medals from Vietnam, shall we?" and they VERY quickly say thank you and hang up. Don't think they like having their noses rubbed in it. Nor do they like knowing OTHER people out there know it, too.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Call 'em - you can do it TOLL FREE! Check my sig line for details! It'll make your day. Besides... YOU might be contributing toward silencing them, once and for all, about this. Slugs and worms uncovered, after you turn over the rock under which they're hiding, do NOT like the fresh air or sunshine.

2. I think he should hammer the obvious w/911 Commission...
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 12:27 PM by Tellurian
>Bush and Cheney refusing to testify under oath.

>Refusing to have their testimony recorded or available for review.

>Having the final conclusions of the 911 Commission vetted by the White House before release to the Public..

and more-

Nothing like using contemporary issues to turn up the heat.

Asking Bush & Cheney- "What are you(pl) trying to HIDE?"

would be a good tv commercial played nationwide.

3. Yup
I guess Cheney and Bush didn't expect to get it thrown back in their faces.

I suspect they will lay off this line for now, but knowing this gang, bring it up again later in the campaign. I think it is a good thing for Kerry, it puts focus on their military records where Kerry wins.

6. I've also noticed that great sucking sound, then dead silence
when they read about Wilson's book appearing on Friday..and all the talk shows he'll be on to follow up.

The deepest gasp from the RW came when it was announced that Wilson will 'OUT" the person who "outed" Valerie Plame.

8. Rove's plan all along was to beat on Kerry, then call a truce...
that way he would get all the cheap shots in AND would move the AWOL story off the table. I swear, if Kerry stops now.......

11. COMPLETELY disagree
If Kerry "freezes" the lines now, he takes the advantage and keeps it indefinitely.

The medals stuff DIDN'T STICK, whereas the Bush AWOL stuff does.

Plus, since the other side started it, HE looks big and gracious but they look petty and scabrous if he stops it now.

The best thing Kerry can do is stop now.

12. The problem is, the poison has already been put out there and
now the public thinks Kerry does not deserve his medals. All the confusion around what he threw, how severe his wounds were, etc. has been converted into belief by many sheep that somehow he did not earn his medals. To that extent, the republicans have won on this. Kerry (or surrogates) need to hammer away on the AWOL and the details of his Silver Star and Bronze Star- those are the ones associated with his battlefield leadership and valor.

14. Nope. I think you got that backwards
The public thinks "Why are they trashing Kerry for medals he earned fair and square?"

Strangely enough, you're making the same mistake the freepers make .... believing that the "public" buys their freeper lunacy.

19. I hope you are correct. I almost went balistic when I heard a
woman in a checkout line tell her friend that "if he didn't earn those medals he should give them back". "How did he get them anyway?". I told her how he earned them. That's only one data point, but the way the message is being put out there by the media can twist people's brains.
For example, on Dan Rather tonight when he listed the "issues" of Bush*, Cheney and Kerry, Bush* was shown in a uniform and Kerry with the '70s long hair but not in uniform. From that one might conclude the "issue" of Kerry in Vietnam had something to do with anti-war, rather than fighting and receiving medals for valor. The message about the two medals for valor and leadership needs to be told- clearly.

16. McCain said "let's just all agree they both served honorably and drop it."
That's exactly what they want. They want to hammer Kerry with lies until he agrees to take the military service issue off the table. McCain tried to call the truce today.

18. I saw that performance to - I was outraged. He was disgusting.
They know they've miscalculated, that it has backfired bigtime on the repukes - particularly bunkergoy and his entire gang of thugs - so now they say "let's stop it".

NEVER - we should keep hammering them when their down - and hammer away at AWOL.

This prooves that it's a good plan of attack.

McCain simply disgusts me most of the time - but even a broken clock can be right twice a day.

Now is NOT the time to give up and "play nice" like they want - we need to go for the jugular.

Almost non-stop. It's painful (well, not really) to listen to such pathetic crap when Americans are dying daily.
