Anyone else hear NPR re:Negroponte? What are they smoking??
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 01:35 PM by LynzM
They had a college prof. on who was talking about how Negroponte has the people skills, the right attitude, etc.!? Um, dudes? Hello? And then talking about how he doesn't have a lot of experience in post-conflict situations (which this isn't, really, is it?) and how the middle east isn't really his area of expertise, but he's really a good people person, etc., etc, and hopefully the right person for the job. Would this guy listen to himself? The only qualification he has is that he's nice, he's never handled a situation like this before, isn't knowledgeable about the area, but we'll just see how it works?? WTF! Will go try to find a transcript, no link yet, sorry...

Ok, forgot to add that he was saying about how Negroponte had the experience working with the UN on Iraq, will bring them in to help, etc. WFT again!?!?! We walk all over the UN, yeah, that's 'working with them'.

Also, seems NPR wants to physically mail you transcripts... anyone have a better link?

3. having the same WTF moment
... :wtf: INDEED! ... especially because yesterday I heard Sen. Biden (certainly NOT a foreign relations lightweight) PRAISE this guy at the beginning of his Senate Confirmation Hearing ... the praise was so far beyond polite that I wanted to gag ... hopefully, this is my stupidity only ... but I still have this disquieting image of him sitting behind Powell at the 2/5/03 presentation of "evidence" to the UN ...
... keep us posted if you can, and I will do the same after some more research ... maybe we can get some light bulbs (LOL)
