fighting back against right wing e-mails
Right wingers must never fact check.

I got this in my e-mail. It is a hoax. Below it is how I responded to it.

This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam and Osama should have read up on their Muslim passages... The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible)

Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.
Note the verse number!!!!!)

My reply

I looked for the above verse in the Koran, it does not exist.

Searching the internet I found this:

<9.11> But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

Bush should have been told of this verse: 17:33

<17:33> You shall not kill any person - for GOD has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. If one is killed unjustly, then we give his heir authority to enforce justice. Thus, he shall not exceed the limits in avenging the murder; he will be helped.

More on why the Muslim world is so angered over Iraq.

<42:39> When gross injustice befalls them, they stand up for their rights.

<42:40> Although the just requital for an injustice is an equivalent retribution, those who pardon and maintain righteousness are rewarded by GOD. He does not love the unjust.

<42:41> Certainly, those who stand up for their rights, when injustice befalls them, are not committing any error.

<42:42> The wrong ones are those who treat the people unjustly, and resort to aggression without provocation. These have incurred a painful retribution.

<42:43> Resorting to patience and forgiveness reflects a true strength of character.

<42:44> Whomever GOD sends astray will never find any other lord, and you will see such transgressors, when they see the retribution, saying, "Can we get another chance?"

<42:45> You will see them facing it, humiliated and debased, and looking, yet trying to avoid looking. Those who believed will proclaim: "The real losers are those who lost their souls and their families on the Day of Resurrection. The transgressors have deserved an everlasting retribution."

<42:46> There will be no allies to help them against GOD. Whomever GOD sends astray can never be guided.

2. I do have several people coming to me for fact checking.
I have tried to show them how to do it, but they don't seem to understand how to use key words.

3. Never underestimate right wing stupidity
Many years ago there used to be a right wing loon named Garner Ted Armstrong with a syndicated television program called The World Tomorrow. One of the fascinating things is that he used to back up his various idiotic remarks by throwing out a chapter number and verse and then "quoting" something vaguely biblical sounding that he would pull out of his ass.

You could sit there with a Bible and follow along...and there'd never be a real Bible verse that matched what Garner Ted told his inbred followers.

5. I read the Koran a few years ago. I had it nearby so I
looked up that verse. It didn't sound like anything I remembered in my readings.

Did this administration act in ignorance, or are they trying to cause chaos?
