Condoleezza at the Commencement

Now that college graduations are just around the corner, it seems likely that Doctor Condoleezza Rice will be the commencement speaker at some college between now and June. She has an earned Ph.D., but she's much more of a politician than a scholar.

In her testimony before the September 11th commission, Condi showed she's very good at not answering direct questions. Scholars aren't supposed to evade important issues.

Because her personal history has heroic elements in it, it's too bad she has turned out to be such a liar. Remember when she talked about mushroom clouds over U.S. cities? She had no basis for talking that way, and she had to have known it. Among scholars, that's extremely unethical behavior. Among Republican politicians, it's business as usual.

I hope the graduating class turns their backs on her.
