Basically it's the corportization of soldiers, Like Rumsfelds (and incidentally CARLYLE's idea) of a Tooth to Tail military..

the troops make what, $1300 bucks a month at low rank (not enough to support families or keep their house) - they get "stop gapped" so they can't even GET OUT of the military if they want to..

They aren't equipped as the military would equip them (I know I was in purchasing in the air force in 1971-74) - instead you have the corps and Halliburton, Bechtel, etc.. CHEATING THEM --

no armor for Hummers or personal armor, they are writing home for NIght vision goggles and other needs..

MEANWHILE, the Mercenaries hired contactor goons are getting everything they need AND up to $174,000.00 a YEAR..

OUR troops are FODDER and nothing more..

Fast food fodder..

Enlisted troops start out at a little under 1200/month. It's not great (7.50 an hour for a 40 hour week) but most of our soldiers don't go into the service for the money. That's what the mercs are for. And I wonder how many of our soldiers are being killed in Iraq because they couldn't get enough money for college?
