5. What's going on in Fallujah

is equivalent to pulling a gun on a cop. They are fucking with the marines, who have already lost a bunch of guys in there. It might be a better world if cops and marines were peace loving souls who relied on appeals to reason to get their way. In fact they tend to be people who won't hesitate to shoot if they are threatened. Backing down is not in their nature, and it probably wouldn't defuse the situation anyway. Might as well do what we have to and get it over with.

6. This isn't really because of the repubs. You are watching US

history. This was Vietnam. This was the war on the Indian tribes out west. This was the war on the Indian tribes on the east coast. The same with the Indians of the south. This is the way our government has always acted when group rights interfere with government's friends rights - corporations (railroads, steel mills), and the rich. Our history is full of incidents like this.

This is what we've done to other countries that get in our way. Laos, Cambodia, China, Phillipense, whatever. Our government is a very ugly and evil government. It's just that now we can see it for what it really is.
