the course. You gotta stay until the job is done because you cannot let these GI's die in vain. You gotta vindicate and validate their deaths......and so goes on and on and on the poison called "war logic". I hear this almost nightly on my local news from the sorrowful families of the fallen. Let's continue with that logic: Send more troops into the meat grinder for a war (and I do not oppose all war by any means)that did not in any way, shape or form have to be fought. A bogus war. A war for no reason except corporate greed. A war that's blowing the national budget and destroying middleclass America. Ahhhh, but the more we "stay the course" and send more to die to "validate" the dead, the more families we have standing in front of a whore media camera asking others to send their loved ones to "stay the course", "finish the job", "support OUR PRESIDENT", blah, blah. The war that just "keeps on giving"----to the re-eleciton campaign of G.W. Bush. Man, you can't pay for election propaganda like that??-(oh, damn, wait...we are, aren't we?---we are giving our sons and daughters to it (that's cheap) and our future as we mortgage it to put Georgie back into the Oval Office.

8. Yep, been pondering that angle, too...

I've been hearing comments that what we're doing in Fallujah is to bring to justice those responsible for the 4 mercenaries whose bodies were maltreated, and that the US soldiers now want revenge for a soldier killed yesterday.

And every Fallujan wants revenge for every family member killed.

Bush To Iraqi Militants: 'Please Stop Bringing It On'
WASHINGTON, DC—In an internationally televised statement Monday, President Bush modified a July 2003 challenge to Iraqi militants attacking U.S. forces. "Terrorists, Saddam loyalists, and anti-American insurgents: Please stop bringing it on now," Bush said at a Monday press conference. "Nine months and 500 U.S. casualties ago, I may have invited y'all to bring it on, but as of today, I formally rescind that statement. I would officially like for you to step back." The president added that the "it" Iraqis should stop bringing includes gunfire, bombings, grenade attacks, and suicide missions of all types.

4. Yes, makes me ponder the old saying....

... "throwing good money after bad."

5. Sounds like O' Really's radio rant today
The b*stard was incensed that Doonesbury had BD losing his leg - Trudeau is just trying to make a statement according to the blowhard. Then he went after Ted Koppel for daring on Friday night to read the names of the KIA's.
