There is no compromising with the present Republican Party.... |
|
They will jackboot all over your face. They will denounce you as a traitor to the country. They will assassinate your character and they will ridicule your positions into cartoon forms. There is only one way deal with them.
They must be defeated at the polls. You cannot sit down and reason with them. You cannot talk issues with them. They must be beat. They must be thoroughly defeated. If, God forbid, you do not defeat them, then America will be ripe for their picking. It is no exaggeration.
Their aim is to destroy government or shrink it to the point that it can be drowned in a bathtub, as Karl Rove has stated. When government is reduced to the point that they wish, the repercussions are unthinkable. It cannot be done without doing serious damage to our social infrastructure. If that were to happen, there would be more than simple social unrest. It would be rebellion. That is the direction that the Republican Party is taking our nation.

1. "That is the direction that the Republican Party is taking our nation. " |
|
Yup. Sure is.
Business Week recently did a story that showed that 98% of the nation's wealth is in the hands of 1.5% of the population.
The implications of that just scares the Hershey Squirts out of me.

4. We need to stand up to them. |
|
A lot here used to feel that way. Don't let them define the issues for us. That is what we are doing.
They say "frog", we "jump."

Actually, I think it was Grover Whorequist who said that phrase about drowning govt. in a bathtub, but it wouldn't surprise me if Karl "Jackboot" Rove agreed w/it.

That's the Chicago way"

figuratively speaking only: hit these fuckers fast and hard, and dont stop until they are on the ground bleeding thru every orifice.

You can't reason with pure evil. The Dems need to get this though their heads.

Anyone who agrees with anything they say should be barred from holding public office or working in the media. Then we all will be free.

by using the Poppy Bush book at him, especially the Iraq paragraph.
Trust me, freepers can be really damned thickheaded when debating them. Especially ones that think * is a God to them.... :puke:
Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt would be rolling in their graves at the state of the present Republican party.

16. No, not hypocritical. |
|
They have been telling us for 30 years that they were going to do this. They have written books about it, started radio shows based on it, spent time money energy getting it into the school curricula. They created Websites pushing the agenda, and even telling adherents how to go about fulfilling it, step by step. In 1994 they even produced a congressional document declaring it--The Contract With America. And PNAC is on the Web.
No, they aren't hypocrites in the political arena. What they want has been clearly laid forth before the American people for decades. I've been arguing against them since 1980, and nothing in their basic position has changed. My fear has always been that they are correct when they say that this is what the American people want. It certainly seems that way. With everything that has come out publicly about this administration, how can Kerry only be at 50%? Something is terribly wrong there.

21. Yes, I agree with that aspect of it. |
|
My point is that they are doing precisely what they have said they would do, which makes their political actions unhypocritical.
From a morals viewpoint, of course, any time a group of serial adulterers attacks someone for having an affair, the label to be applied can only be "hypocrite". :)
