Like Pat Tillman, Kerry was rich and well connected, and could have easily avoided the war. The idea of others doing their duty did not appeal to them however, and despite the fact that they could have gotten out, they volunteered. Bush, on the other hand...

Both were rich and connected
But their paths soon dissected
When their country called on them to serve
Kerry served like a man
Dubya fled, cut and ran
John had balls, George had no balls, no nerve

All those men in line waiting
for the Guard, anticipating
a way to avoid Nam, to stay
in the US instead
of facing wars dread
chose an entirely legitimate way

At the lines end, the elf
Dubya, pissing himself
If he waited he'd risk being sent
So he pulled a few strings
Daddy fixed a few things
And to the head of the line Dubya went

The guy George displaced
Went to war in his place
The poor bastard, he did George's time
But like Kerry, he knows
That the path Dubya chose
Was the path of a coward, a slime

The flight suit won't disguise
What you see in his eyes
He's a coward, a phony, a disgrace
Tillman, Kerry, millions more
Did their duty, went to war
George sent others to serve in his place
