A friend of mine asked me to spread this (Virginia Interest)

She thinks it's not only worth the knowing and the telling, but also the stopping.

My friends ask for help, they get help. DU is the fastest way I know to spread the word.

1. This is awful!
As I understand it, if I were to go into business, I couldn't legally have a partner who was another woman according to this law. THAT alone will get this law bashed, imho. Even Repukes love business, and won't have any laws interfering with it.

7. they would rather not have your business if you are not one of them
They want those not like them out of the state. When they were coming up with this law, they rushed into it after the san fran thing. I think they had it made up and through the congress within 2 weeks to a month. This was a priority for them.

Someone suggested we would be sending a message not to do business here, they were happy with that. They said good let them leave the state.

The hate both at the state and local level is really high. These are very bigotted people.

3. It just doesn't sound legal
at all to do this. How could it hold up in court. Gee, you can even leave provisions for your pets in a will.

5. Isn't there anyway this is unconstitutional?
especially the part about wills and leaving your estate the way you want to and with the people you want it to go to?

"Draconian" doesn't even begin to cover it.

6. And our Senators to the Federal Government are just as bad
One of our senators to the Federal government was the governor here. George Allen. When he was governor he had a law that two people who were unrelated or married could not get home loans together.

If you go back and look at the civil rights movement and interracial marriages that were all of the news when the san fran gay marriages first broke..... this was one of several states who finally stopped the law against interracial marriages in 1967.......

after 'rogue' judges as Bush and right wings like to call them... the USA Supreme Court made it illegal.

When in the late 50's early 60s they tried to have integrated schools here. They just shut down the schools. For years.

We have the most right wing schools here. The 700 club school is Regent university. There is another right wing school toward the mountains that has at least 20 interns on Bush staff.

So yes this seems to be the most backward state there is. I thought alabama, louisiana and others were.....but it seems we win the prize.

During the debates about San Fran, I called our Fed State Senators and wrote them. They sent back notes that they would vote the way they believed. It had nothing to do with representation. These people would be like talking to the freepers along the route for the Womens March in DC. They can not hear.

Yes they want to drive homesexuals out of the state.
