What are the big differences between Bush and bin Laden? |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-29-04 09:49 PM by DrWeird
One's a religious zealot who thinks he's doing the work of God.
The other's a religious zealot who thinks he's doing the work of God.
One has murdered thousands of innocent civilians for no good reason.
The other has murdered thousands of innocent civilians for no good reason.
One has sent his own young men off to a foreign country to die for his own personal goals of power and domination.
The other has sent his own young men off to a foreign country to die for his own personal goals of power and domination.
One has killed thousands of Americans.
The other has killed hundreds of Americans and will probably end up killing thousands.
The only real difference I see is that one uses a few rather desperate extremists while the other is the commander of the world's most bloated military force that money can buy.
I guess one's a muslim and the other's a christian, but there's really very little difference between those two religions.

8. That goes without saying. |

Then again, if George lost three more points of IQ, they'd have to repot him twice a year, heavy on the vermiculite.

from very wealthy families.
And IMO Bush also uses a few rather desperate for power extremists/religious zealots.
Brilliant comparison. Yep, George Bin Laden.

Can anybody come up with a significant difference of why one is good and the other is bad?

14. they're both bad, but I have one difference... |
|
They've both been at the helm of entities that have murdered innocents. They're both religious fanatics.
But further, from a corporate perspective, they are step-brothers.
Why people don't see that as significant is beyond me. Why people aren't curious why the only family in the US that was allowed to fly after the WTC thing was the bin Laden family. No one seems curious that these people were not even questioned.
This whole moral relativism thing that people play really cracks me up. I remember when the invasion started, that a bunch of the war supporters from my office went to church to pray. That struck me as one of the largest collective acts of catharctic hypocrisy I've ever witnessed. Killing is killing. If the barbarians are at the gate and you have to kill them to make them go away, well, so be it. That's a clear cut case of self defense. But when you kill people who have done you no wrong, who were not an imminent threat, that's something altogether different.
Collectively, karmically, we've done a very bad thing. And BushCo was at the helm. It's just that simple. The media whores can spin it however they'd prefer, but that does not change the truth. That does not change the reality of the situation.
That whole 'God Bless America' schtick? That should really be 'God Forgive America' because we've earned it. :-(
And in large part, we have the Mad Chimp and bin Laden to thank for that.
How could they be any more similar?
The differences?
Oh yeah... I've never seen bin Laden smirk on camera when he's lying.

15. bin laden had morality, integrity and the conviction of his beliefs, AND |
|
his beliefs were about truly protecting his people.
bush has no compass.
bin ladens beliefs are based in opposing the bush regime's installation of western rule on HIS country, his people and his way of life. Was OBL really that WRONG to oppose that imposition?
Right about now, it sure looks like OBL was RIGHT.

16. Wow! Someone got carried away. Righteous mass murderer? |
|
I seem to have read about your hero that he is a rich pampered guy bent on showing off to his family that he too is somebody, Partied half his life then decided to use religion to exert power (besides his money0 over dim witted followers. Pretty much W to me. Note: not everyone who opposes W is therefore a good guy. But I am sure your deranged view is going to be plucked by some freeper and held up as representative of who we are. so: YOU DO NOT REPRESENT ME.

18. If you think that OBL has redeeming attributes, you have lost it |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-30-04 08:30 AM by kcwayne
Think about it for a couple of seconds.
OBL has murdered thousands of people in an effort to establish a caliphate in the middle east. Do you even know what that means?
If you think living in a 9th century fiefdom under tyrannists like the Taliban is a noble cause, you haven't lived it.
And if you understand the ramifications of this and still applaud it, its a wonder you didn't perish in the fires in Waco.
