when Saigon fell. The last day of the Vietnam War.

If memory serves me correctly, the guy at the top of the ladder was preventing our "South" Vietnamese allies from reaching the helicopter- No doubt a practical matter of overloading, but also abandoning a lot of people who had 'been on our side'. It was not a very proud day for the US.
