You want to terminate Tom DeLay?
Then take a minute and donate $10 or $20 to Richard Morrison (the Dem running against him). https://www.onlinecontribution.com/rmorrison/donate.php
Add $.22 to the end so they know it is from DU

learn more about him here: http://www.richardmorrisonfordistrict22.com/index.html

This seat is winnable, but only if Morrison has the money to get his message and name out.

Kos talked about this on Wednesday:

I've gotten my hands on some polling data from the district, and it's surprisingly poor for DeLay. His Approval/Disapprovals are 44/48. On the reelect question, 36 percent would definitely vote for him, 27 percent would consider someone else, and 27 percent would definitely vote for someone else.

53 percent of respondents were pro-choice, with only 34 percent following DeLay's strict anti-choice line.

more at: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/4/28/12640/8959

This is a national race. Imagine a House without DeLay. Also, if the polls get closer, it will force DeLay to spend more time working on his own reelection. That means less time to raise money for other candidates.

So please, give what you can to terminate DeLay.

By the way, they are trying to raise $20,000 in a week. In just 2 days they have raised $10,000. All we need is 500 DUers to give $20.22 and they will be over the top.

16. From the Texas Political Week in Review
Two Texas Democratic Congressional Candidates See Good News This Week

Two Democratic congressional candidates- a 26 year incumbent in West Texas and a first time candidate down in Houston- have both received great news this week.
First, Charlie Stenholm, the Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee and a mainstay of West Texas politics was targeted by Tom DeLay for elimination
this year. DeLay worked to make Stenholm one of the weakest Democratic incumbents in the state but it appears that he has failed. A new poll done by Stenholm
shows him leading Neuberger 48-44 with 8 percent undecided. Even if Charlie loses the undecideds by 60-40, he will end up winning reelection and thwarting Tom DeLay's efforts to deprive West Texas of effective congressional representation. The other good news candidate is the man who is literally taking on Tom DeLay- Democratic challenger in DeLay's Congressional District 22 Richard Morrison. Morrison is a Houston-area attorney who believes in the things most Texans believe in -- hard work, honesty and playing by the rules. Unfortunately for the decent people of District 22, their congressman has ignored two out of three of those mainstream values. (He does work hard, we'll give him that.) A recent poll by Congressman Nick Lampson found that 48% of DeLay's constituents disapprove of the job he's doing and only 36% are sure they will vote for him. By contrast, 54% said that they either definitely would or would seriously consider voting for a challenger- a challenger with the character and ability of Richard Morrison. With the evidence growing that DeLay used illegal fundraising to force the Texas Legislature into drawing him a new congressional map, an indictment might not be too far away. Such a development ought to ensure Morrison a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Great job Charlie and Richard, keep up the good work! Please donate to Stenholm or Morrison today!

18. They made it!! $20K in one week! Let's not stop now...
Thanks to all the DUers that helped this happen - but let's not forget that the pissant extortionist has $1 million on hand and the ability to get much more at the drop of a hat.

Those that can, please continue to send the occasional $10.22 or $20.22 to Richard to keep him afloat...
