but couldnt it be that some people, not all, but some, could read the question in such a way as to think they were asking:

Are you upset these pictures were shown?

In other words, I wonder how many people answering the poll thought they were answering whether showing the pics made them upset, or what the pics showed were upsetting.

I suspect that the real number is lower than 36% (now 37%) who aren't upset by what the pics showed, I further suspect some of the people who answered either way didnt even see the pics.

Lots of people outside our country go to CNN to check the news. A poll that shows that 36% of Americans give a sh*t about Iraqis being tortured and raped is adding just fuel to the fire.

was that Saddam was dehumanized, his sons were, but if the rest of the Iraqis were dehumanized - I must have missed that.

i'm upset about the pictures, but we can't expect EVERYONE to be upset about it... especially after seeing videos of american hostages being decapitated (danieal pearl) or capped in the head. the whole "charred remains chopped up and hung on a bridge" probably had alot to do with 36% not being upset too. they see images like that and they believe that everyone held in captivity are the same people who did those horrible things to our countrymen.

america is supposed to be the shining beacon of hope and virtuous piety when it comes to warfare -- we don't torture, we don't kill civilians etc -- but that's obviously not the case now. some people just don't want to realize that.
