"Jim McDermott: Traitor"
And now, from the Sun Myung Moon/WorldNetDaily :wtf: department:

Congressman Jim McDermott is a traitor. I told him so myself on a Seattle radio station just prior to the Iraq war after the seven-term Democrat blatantly sided with Saddam Hussein instead of the United States. On Tuesday, McDermott's hatred of America and America's God surfaced once again as he led the Pledge of Allegiance on the floor of Congress minus the words "under God."

<snip>

Jim McDermott has high allegiance to causes other than God. In the eyes of Middle East terrorists and dictators, Jim McDermott is no infidel. In October of 2002, just months before Operation Iraqi Freedom, McDermott visited with Baath regime leaders and Saddam henchmen in Baghdad. "The president of the United States will lie to the American people in order to get us into this war," McDermott told ABC's "This Week" from Iraq.

Upon his return from Baghdad, McDermott addressed an anti-American rally at downtown Seattle's Denny Park, continuing his diatribe against Bush and justice. I was one of several counterprotesters on hand, armed with my American flag to make known my reservations about the despicable career of Baghdad Jim.

1. Fascism
That's the only way I can explain how omitting two words is tantamount to treason. Un-fucking-believable.

5. McDermott met with same Baath leaders Bush is turning Fallujah over to.
Get you're spin straight, freepers. Either the people Bush is turning Fallujah over to are heros and MeDermott is a hero, or the people Bush is turning Fallujah over to are enemies, and both Bush and McDermott are traitors.

8. This kid is seriously deranged...
This article reads like it was written by a disgruntled junior high student. Nothing but smears and gross mischaracterizations. His comments on McDermott's church not being "Christian" because it didn't focus on "salvation and sin" were utterly laughable.

My question is, why didn't he get his sorry ass down to the recruiting station rather than attending the "counter protest" against all those godless socialists and communists?

13. I didn't know that God was a cause and that allegiance to the cause...
...was a requirement for members of Congress.

Now that we live in Bushworld, we get to learn something new, just about every single day.

14. Maybe I'm wrong...
...but does meeting with Baathist leaders in Iraq automatically mean collaboration with them? If so, was there the same amount of outrage when Dan Rather interviewed Hussein back before Desert Storm?

Back to school, FReeper Youth - yer outta here.

15. Jim McDermott has high allegiance to causes other than God.
Hang him. Obviously god runs this country now, and oaths of office to the Constitution are no longer an issue. Service to the big guess are more important than anything else, and supercede mere laws. Surely many fundamentalists would have no trouble perjuring themselves to do what is best for their belief, and it would be scurrilous of us mere heathens to question such things.

Non-believers are inferior, in fact, they shouldn't really be suffered, just as Bush 1 said...

When you take an oath of office, it is meant to supercede other affiliations.

The very essence of this article is this: how dare he not hold god above everything else; he's unfit for office.
