2. No Leaders That I've Heard
but I was shocked at the number of callers to WPFW, the DC progressive station, who were voting for Nader, including quite a few black folks.

3. I'm a socialist
and multitudes of us would vote for kerry but 90% refuse after clinton neo liberal policies most of us are in the democratic socialists of America. For most leftists it's a conscious thing in addition to the party being too cowardly to embrace left field. Throw us a bone, at least mention a graduated tax bracket. I'm still on the fence, I'm starting to like kerry, but as a socialist i like my leaders emotional, vitriolic,, which is why so many of us supported dean, he was close to center but embraced us. Let's see where kerry is on the redistribution of wealth and medicle marijuna research.

4. There are several
people on here who are convinced they are "leftists," who have some nasty things to say about Kerry and those of us who support him in 2004. I'd be interested in knowing what accomplishments they have in their "political activist" careers. There is much more involved in being a "leftist" than having the ability to focus on the negative, and a big mouth. I think I qualify as a leftist, and I support Kerry in 2004.

5. what's funny about these types
is many actually either distorting Kerry's record or taking actions of context, or flat out lie altogether. I suspect these types can't get over Dean and are still in "smear Kerry" mode, or are convinced that convincing people of lies about Kerry's record is somehow progressive. So far no one has yet to explain to me how using such Karl Rove-esque tactics benefits anyone but the Repukes.

6. Good point.
I am sometimes not sure about people who claim to be from the early Dean-inspired activists. I think what Dean did was great. No one seemed to have the balls to confront bush, except some of the "third tier" candidates, such as Dennis K and Rev. Sharpton. But Dean has made very clear that he wants Kerry to beat bush in November. So I find it odd that some on here say they are Dean supporters who do not want to vote for Kerry. I suspect that they fit in to one of two groups: immature/sore losers; or those with divisive agendas pretending they supported Dean. At the same time, I want to be clear: constructive conversation on the tough issues is a good thing. Kerry is at best a step in the left direction. But as a nation, we need to continue the struggle, day in and day out, to change this county. We need a revolution in values, which goes way beyond what Kerry represents. That comes after November.

7. Even odder, the Kerry-bashers
never show up in GD threads that address the issues that they claim to care about. Some bash Kerry for his supposed PNAC Imperialism, but you never see these folks in the PNAC and Imperialism threads, unless it also involves Kerry.
