Do you think the Arab world is making the connection.........
between the Michael/Kobe/Williams "black male" show criminal trials and the Iraqi torture pictures. Will they noticed the constant "demonizing" of black males as inhuman criminals by the US media? Will Scott Peterson throw them for a loop? Or will they figure out that the only reason Scott got "demonized" was because Saint Laci was carrying a fetus? Noticed how fast the Laci/fetus trial disappeared after the Laci Peterson Act got passed. Now we only have "black males are evil criminals" show trials. Will they get it? Will they have an aha moment? What do ya think?

4. Maybe constantly talking about "black male celebrity show trials"
Will finally be the solution to getting our news back. Nothing else is working.

6. Are you kidding me??
Williams killed a man (even though he wasn't guilty, he DID do it), the evidence is HEAVILY stacked against Kobe (of course, innocent until proven guilty... i'm just commenting on the evidence, which is more than enough for him to stand trial, nothing more), and Michael Jackson has been accused of pedophilia for years and has paid off god only knows how many people because of this.

Of course, none of that even matters in refuting your argument. They are all big time public figures, while Scott Peterson was most definitely not. THAT is why those trials are in the public eye. Most of us have grown up seeing Kobe, Jackson, and Williams in the public arena. Most of us couldn't give a fuck less about Scott Peterson. It shouldn't have been a story to begin with, and only was because it was a slow news day.

Bringing the race card into these issues is patently ignorable and completely laughable. Worse though, it perpetuates inter-race hatred unnecessarily. Practice a little more responsibility before you start making ridiculous accusations.

8. Which do you think is a greater contributing factor in the showtrail
atmosphere, race or money? Remember Peterson is not a celebrity. What if every single one of these guys is guilty? Not that that (or celebrity) justifies a show trial, but I don't neccessarily think that it's demonization of the black male. Of course some people will demonize black males no matter what, and this is not going to help with that. As far as the Kobe case you wonder whether he is even the one who suffers the greatest from stereotypes. Sure he's black and male and an athelete, but his reputation has been squeaky clean up 'till now. The accuser on the other hand suffers the "gold digger" stereotype.
I think the public opinion on the race issue is pretty much a wash between those who think that this is a black athelete taking advantage of a white woman, those who think that this is a white woman taking advantage of a black athelete and those who aren't really considering the race thing at all. Conclusion? I'm a lot less comfortable talking about this than I was before I started.
