CBS, NBC, ABC | ALL slam bush* tonight
in their evening news broadcasts

I was able to surf the opening minutes of all three.

ALL showed the "Mission Accomplished" photo op and pointed out how very very wrong he was.

ALL showed Kerry's speech in a positive light with some coverage showing how negative and personal Cheney's attack was.

if they have not played in your time zone, catch the first 10 minutes of any of them and you'll be pleased.

Fallujah, coming on the anniversary of "mission accomplished" have seriously weakened the chimp.

good things come in threes, will the third be Nightline tonight?

1. Bout damn time! Has the media finally come out of it's post-9/11 stupor?
I'm looking forward to Nightline tonight. Don't think it's going to be preempted in the Atlanta market because our local radio whore asshole Kim Peterson was railing about it this afternoon.

Not to mention what Chris Matthews said about it:
"We’re proud of our president. Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical, who’s not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. They want a guy who’s president. Women like a guy who’s president. Check it out. The women like this war."

7. Is our liberal media finally back in our fold?
Why did they ever desert us? I miss the squib laced truck fuel tanks to show how dangerous a side impact can be and the watermelon that was shot with a deer rifle (reported as an AK47 shot) because the AK47 they were trying to demonetize only put a hole in it instead of exploding it.

14. Maybe you missed the staged network news spots years ago?
They use a model rocket igniter attached to the fuel tank of a truck that was suspected of having a side-impact issue with its fuel tank. They could not get it to explode by crashing into it so they added a squib igniter.

The AK and watermelon was another setup.

They were caught and called on it and have behaved better ever since.

with favorable monopoly legislation and tax breaks. But even with that, there's only so much whoring they can do before they appear to be as lacking in character, competence, and credibility as Bush does. Look at how CNN lied about the White House calling them to refute Dave Lettermans' "Yawning Kid" video, and are now running ads from the House of Saud!

They shoot a thirty caliber round with sufficient knock down power to more than explode a melon or a human head for that matter. Even an M-16 would do more than make a hole in a melon. There are people here who know BS when they read it.

17. Think again
A standard 7.62 x 39 FMJ AK round at the standard 2200fps only puts a hole in the melon. A 5.56 .223 M-16 standard FMJ round at 3300fps explodes the melon. CBS used a 30-06 .308 soft-point hunting round at 3600fps to really explode the melon.

PS: I own an AK along with many .223 rifles and load all my own ammo. I will challenge you to any discussion of arms and ammo of your chosing. Also, I am a professional fireworks master in the shadow of Shimzu. Bring it on...

But just for the record, how many more men have we lost because Kerry said "Bring it on"? Anywhere near as many as we've lost since Lil George said it last July? I make it to be hundreds dead, and thousands injured. Not an enviable record.

53. I carried an AK-47 for almost a year while in Vietnam
I have fired thousands of rounds through one. I know for a fact what damage an AK round will do. I have seen GIs with parts of their bodies blown apart by an AK round. I am well aware of the damage done. I am also well aware of the damage done by an M-16 round and I was fortunate enough to be in a unit that allowed me to chose the weapon of my choice so I didn't have to carry the M-16. I won't argue with a faceless anonymous person on the INTERNET but I do know what I'm saying.

19. Squib laced truck fuel tanks?
Are you referring to the Chevrolet pickup demonstration on NBC's newsmagazine in 1987? Surely you know that in crash tests, the government itself puts in firing squibs, so that it gets an accurate picture of what happens in a collision should there be a rupture of a fuel tank?

In the Dateline tests, while squibs were present, they were never fired. The pickup trucks blew up when the hot filament of the impact car's headlight was exposed in the collision to the gasoline from the ruptured fuel tanks. You DO know that, don't you?

And that Dateline originally stood by its reporting, as did the then-president of NBC Michael Gartner? Gartner later knuckled under when the headlight's manufacturer, one General Electric, let NBC know in no uncertain terms that it might not be able to count on GE ad revenue in the next year if it didn't "adjust" its reporting? You know that, right?

23. The footage Dateline used showed the Estes engine igniting the fuel
I'm sure other crashes without squibs did explode but the point is Dateline used the squib to insure their "facts" were insured.

28. No, you're incorrect
And, as I stated, the government in its own crash tests uses squibs to test for spilled fuel. And the Dateline tests didn't fire the squibs. So your premise that the crash tests on Dateline were somehow rigged is incorrect; and your implication that the show's producers were doing something nefarious is unfounded.

You should probably read a book from time to time. You seem underinformed.

We must watch the crimes on television. Aren't we proud Americans now? NOT!

Finally we have news coverage of the war crimes, but this is what it has taken. How very sad I am to see that America must go through this before we can actually see the reality of an unjust war.

44. Here's the deal with the media: They must have a picture
Without a video, a feed, there is no story.

It's all about that.

That's why they are showing this contrast between the reality of the war and Bush's "Mission Accomplished". They have a picture, so they have a story.

There are no pictures to show the misapropriation of the $700,000.

So, no story. No pictures of the outing of a CIA operative, now if they had a picture, it would be a story.

At last, we have horrible pictures of those being tortured in Iraq, and the Nightline breakthrough of PICTURES of those killed, not just a number.

You can say numbers, it's not the same. To bring these bastards down we need the pictures showing them lying.

That's all they care about. One picture, one sound bite and it's all over baby because underneath is one rotting core.
