Line Grows for Convention Protest Permits
A growing list of potential protesters - including abortion-rights supporters, anti-war activists and even off-duty police officers - wants permission to hold demonstrations during the Republican National Convention, police officials said Friday.
About 17 organizations have contacted the NYPD so far about permits that would allow them to legally march and rally outside the convention at Madison Square Garden and at other sites around Manhattan. More are expected to apply before a June 15 deadline.

A coalition of unions representing police officers and firefighters also has said it will request permits to demonstrate during the four-day convention, beginning Aug. 30. Union members claim they are underpaid and underfunded for fighting terrorism

2. I only hope................
that everyone remains calm and doesn't break any laws. I know the Rethugs will have operatives spurring people to do the opposite. They want to discredit any and all demonstrations and provoking violence and lawbreaking will achieve that end for them.
Stay cool everybody!

6. 'and the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org' - We should call ourselves
the 'Moral Advocacy Group' or the 'Honesty Advocacy Group'. Are our Democratic and/or our liberal leaders stupid? If you don't know by now the American Media is part of the Shadow Government then you are stupid. The only way to force our message is to put it in the title of the group which makes even the Shadow Government Whores say the truth by saying our name.
