Question about camouflage in the desert

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't American soldiers in Iraq wear desert --i.e. tan, brown & black --camouflage?

That looked like jungle camouflage in those "rape" pics that were posted in the now locked thread.

1. As I said in the now locked thread
I believe those were taken during the Bosnia mess, and I suspect those are not US Troops. They are Serbian... and Rape was used as a weapon by Serbians during that mess

2. Depends
IIRC, a lot of troops were sent over in green camo initially, since they didn't have enough desert stuff (seriously...I remember this quite clearly).

However, I can guarantee that the rest of the world will not, and did not, examine such details when they saw the pictures. After the revelations from Abu Ghraib, ALL of the rumors and ALL of the pictures seen over the last few years became authentic, as far as most people outside the US are concerned.

3. It gets worst than that
AQ recruitment will go up

This is gold for AQ, the same kind of gold as the war itself.

Thanks bush for puting our kids in a situation where this could happen. The only way to blunt the effect, (and according to the Independent we are moving that direction) is for Karpinsky (Officer in Charge, one star), her command staff, and the soldiers, to be court martialed and sent to jail for a long time.

4. Its smelling like a bate and switch
To further enrage the Arab community. The rape pics look to be a different stock and the uniforms are definately different. Not desert cammo for certain.

You have to move very carefully on things that appear to be explosive. You let your emotions get the best of you and you will be taken for a ride. Now we have to watch as this sort of propoganda further endangers both our troops over there and the Iraqi citizens that are likely to rise up in anger against our troops. Whether they are real photos of our troops or not their effect will be the same and our treatment of the prisoners enabled this tactic to work.

5. Locked thread poster
This is exactly the point I made in that now locked discussion. It's interesting that often, should a topic arise people find offensive, the motto - "just turn the channel" is substituted for "alert."
