The anniversary of your show Hardball coincides with anniversary of George W. Bush's "Mission Accomplished" PR stunt. So I saved this for a year and present it to you as your anniversary present. On your May 1, 2003 installment of Hardball, you said:

Americans love having a guy as president, a guy who has a little swagger, who’s physical, who’s not a complicated guy like Clinton or even like Dukakis or Mondale, all those guys, McGovern. A pseudo-macho closet case. This group is filled with those guys. when I was studying Latin for 6 impossible years in JHS and HS, we read a lot of these Roman authors who talked about the bisexuality of those who rose to power. That they didn't have much experience in this until they were co-opted by the masters themselves. Very interesting.

I always hated those guys who beat on the 'nerds' and called them 'fags' and would make fun of your frigging shoes, and then it turned out that they were living this giant lie. I told one guy at a reunion that the best-adjusted group as a whole following school were the gays and lesbians who returned with their partners. I said to him, why don't you go up to so-and-so and call him a fag now? He dumurred but I really persisted. I thought we were gonna get into a fight, I swear. These guys were big mouths and giant hypocrites. The WORST. Made everyone's lives miserable including we straight guys who weren't linemen on the football team.
