25. The Need For Poll Watchers

If there was ever a reason we need to get as many Democrats involved in working on election day, listening to Greg is a must.

I'm hoping someone, somewhere on DU is working on organizing poll watching...especially in swing states and those with Diebold involved. The stuff he's relating is distressing.

28. Palast: best 2 points on the 2000 Florida vote

Palast was great on C-Span this morning ... catch a rerun if you can ...

Here are what I thought were his 2 strongest points on the 2000 Florida vote:

1. 94,000 black men were barred from voting because they were "felons" ... the problem was, and Jeb and Harris knew this, that they had not yet been tried ... county clerks were directed to delete the trial date information from there files making it seem like they had already been tried.

2. voters in heavily black counties had their votes thrown out because they not only checked the box for Al Gore but also wrote in his name where the instructions said: "Write the name of your candidate here." The ballots were disqualified because it was viewed as a double vote ... the problem Palast cited, however, was that the identical pattern of voting mistakes occurred in the Tallahassee area which is a heavy Republican district ... but in Tallahassee, voters were provided with a new ballot when the machine was unable to accept the ballot ... no such equipment had been provided in primarily black, democratic districts ...

so, democratic ballots containing mistakes were thrown out while republican ballots were corrected and counted ... yeah, that seems fair ...

what a surprise to see the incredibly informed patriot Greg Palast on C-SPAN, kicking ass so methodically, because he knows no bullshit can stand up to the truth and the few callers who did try to shovel it out, Palast bitch slapped them upside their heads!

What I miss when I get my sleep hmmm...may have to reevaluate my sleeping time.

Does C-SPAN repeat those 6 am PT shows later in the day?
