Bush brought to book by political bestsellers
NEW YORK (AFP) - George W. Bush may be enjoying an edge in opinion polls ahead of this year's presidential election, but he is taking a major-league drubbing in the New York Times bestsellers' list.

A critical hail storm of anti-Bush tracts have been peppering American bookshelves for the past few months, and another wave is expected before the November poll.

Of the current top-10 selling non-fiction works, three offer searing indictments of the Bush presidency, while the number one slot has been taken by veteran journalist Bob Woodward's "Plan of Attack" -- a behind-the-scenes account of the administration's march to war in Iraq (news - web sites).

2. Hey catwoman....
I just love the cute kitties in your post! I love cats... This has nothing to do with the topic of discussion BUT it's just another reason why this administration has to go. John Asscroft thinks that calico cats (related to tortoise shells) are agents of the devil! What an IDIOT HE IS!!!! Here is the link if anyone wants to read!

3. WAY more to it than that, too. I have access to lots of book
info in my line of work.

Most of the earlier-than-April releases are into 3-4 printings (they had low initial print runs). Susskind/Richard Clarke's book had an IPR of 200,000 and advertising budget of 50,000.

Compare that to Sean Hannity's latest: IPR=300,000; Ad budget=300,000(this alone is a bad sign--a dollar per book FOR A TV PERSONALITY?)--no reprints foreseen--soon to be in paperback!

Many yet to come, many having their IPRs increased.

Another interesting factoid: "homework helper" books on GWB are being scaled back or cancelled--the children and teen market can't afford remainders, so if there's a chance the can't completely sell out a IPR, they tend to cancel publications.
