Ed Schultz: Why Congress wasn't notified about tortureing Iraqi Prisoners
I was just listening to Ed Schultz, and a caller called in talking about how upset Congress was that Rumsfeld didn't ever tell them about the photos.

He raised the point that at the time that CBS got hold of these photos, Bush was before the Supreme Court arguing against the need for any oversite in the prison camps in Cuba.

It would ruin their argument if the photos were to come out at that time. That they covered it up.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Do the dates line up like the caller suggested?

3. Containment
The Military kept the photos secret as long as they could.
If GW didn't know about them then the Military failed in it's duty to inform Rummy and Rummy failed in his to inform the Resident. I strongly suspect that Rummy and GW have known about this or many months and prolly thought it would be contained indefinetly.

What is disturbing to me is that the higher level of torture, such as beating to death of prisoners, acid on their skin, attack by dog, rapes of men and women and other brutal acts has been pushed to the background by the Media. Also, the constant refrain of "isolated incidents" has been spun repeatedly. The torure and brutalization of prisoners was over all policy and widespread.

Will the Muslims be cowed more now that this is world wide news?

6. Bush wouldn't have been arguing before Supremes...Do you mean his
Edited on Wed May-05-04 05:43 PM by KoKo01
lackey Ted Olsen? I'm confused by what you are saying. Bush never gets off his butt to do anything much less go to the Supremes. But his henchmen do.

Maybe the caller was confused. It was either Boydon Grey or Ted Olsen, I would think. They are Bush's Legal Mafia who do his work for him and his poppy.

Do you have a little more info on this. I know it's hard when you hear something to catch it. (We all have that problem). But it sounds like the caller was confused on who was doing the arguing even though they got what happened correctly.

7. Yes, of course
Obviously I wasn't suggesting that Bush actually goes before the courts.

I don't know the details, but it sounds like Olsen is the man.
