How far will these jack-off, mothers at the DLC go?
This includes Joe Lieberman, John Kerry and Dickless Gephardt, Al Gore and Bill Clinton...the good ole soft, mellow "MODERATES" (makes me sick just writing the word)the be a little tough on the Republicans, but not tooo tough, we don't want anyone thinking were bullies.

Are they stooges for Karl Rove? Are they getting big bucks for it or just getting laid?

Why does the DLC think it can dictate what Democratic canidates are worthy for us to vote for.

A couple of links below should make it more than clear what we are facing my progressive LIBERAL (NOT moderates ugh!!!) brothers and sisters...

1. Kerry is a moderate and Dean is not?
Or is it that Kerry is a member of the DLC and Dean is not?

I never heard Kerry was a moderate until I came to DU, LOL.

33. that's my point...you don't want to stake out a position
Like the DLC...they want to be all things to all people. Only problem is, if you're in the center, you're not a Democrat anymore. At some point, you have to define what you believe in. If you believe that the two parties represent a separate philosophy about the way to live life, then choose your sides, or quit both parties and become independent.

thats why I believe Dean is the candidate.

I like Kucinich a lot, I dont think from looking at his overall voting record that he would be as tough or as effective as Dean. And needless to say I think we need him right where he is! I dont think we can afford to lose any Representatives, especially with all this redistricting chaos.

11. Why can't we all just get along?
Edited on Sat Aug-09-03 02:14 PM by gulliver
The DLC was in better shape before Gingrich and then Gingrich's dumber brother (Bush). Now, the DLC has little or nothing to show for trying to work with the Republicans. The current Republican Party hijackers don't want to work with Dems of any stripe. Hell, these GOP a**holes don't even want to work with moderates in their own party.

We need the DLC, and we need the progressive wing both. You need two wings to fly. When moderate and traditional conservatives finally look at the POS they were sold in George W. Bush, we will be glad that we have Dems who interface with business. The DLC and other conservative Dems are part of the family. They all consider themselves progressive.

We can't be as uncompromising with our own party as the GOP is with Dems in the government. Sure, I hate it when Lieberman falls back on Iraq being a "just war" but does not address the fact that it was not an "immediately necessary" war. But do I hate Lieberman for it? No. (I don't even hate him for letting Cheney out of the basement during stealection 2000.)

The only way we are going to get out of this Bush-inspired, stupidity-inspired pandemic of division is to think and listen to one another.

Edited on Sat Aug-09-03 02:17 PM by jiacinto
I don't take you seriously. With your foul language I doubt anyone else will either.

Attack Moderate Democrats all you want. But without us you are only 30-40% of the electorate.

Hound out moderates. I hope that you would be happy then to have a party that only has 35 Senate Seats, 150 House Seats, and 10 Governorship.

Because that is what your immature attitude will lead us toward. And maybe you would then be happy because those 35 Senators, 150 Congressman, and 10 Governors would be ideologically pure. But they would be able to get little, if anything, accomplished.

Then again why does it suprise me that actually governing is a second thought to you?

Then lose every election. But I hope you'll be happy with there are only 35 Democrats left in the Senate, 150 House seats that belong to Democrats, and only 10 Democrats as Governors.

But you know--good luck with your efforts to turn out all moderate Democrats from the party.

Enjoy perenially getting the 37% of the vote that George McGovern got in 1972.

the point is that there isn't enough consistent CRITISIM from our active leadership on KEY issues that ALL americans care about.

that is why the precieved 'left' wing of the party is making such a splash.

i wanna know how the 'middle' plans to address this legit critisism.

19. The new improved DLC
The DLC served it's purpose for it's time. The country was a very different place when Clinton became elected. Moderation over extremism was viewed as the only way that the DLC could get Clinton elected.

We are in a different world. Even the imbecile freepers see that their guy is a nut. For us, we now see that trying to sit our asses on the fence will get us nowhere. That is why Dean is going to be the nomination. Kerry, and gang, especially Edwards are going absolutely nowhere.

The DLC seems to get the picture, but it's like they are looking at a piece of abstract art upside down...they know it's a painting but they do not get the message. The DLC has served it's time, and needs new fresh injections of the things that are making Dean so popular.

Basically taking them on, and giving them shit. Otherwise we will lose. Very badly.
