George Bush owes all of us an apology. |

The pictures from Abu Ghraib are sickening. I've never been more ashamed of my country as I am now. But that's not why I'm posting this.
As consumers, we have a right to decide who and what we will support by giving them our business. I don't shop at Wal-Mart, but enough people do that they can remain in business. I take some comfort in knowing that at the very least the Walton family doesn't get any of my money.
But the U.S. government is different. If I don't pay my taxes, I run the risk of being fined and/or sent to prison. So I pay my taxes. And everything that is done with that money, from interstate construction to homeland security to national park maintenance, is paid for by me, in some tiny little degree.
So when Lynndie England is caught on film holding a naked man on a dog leash, I'm paying for her to be there. I'm paying the person who took the picture, and the camera that was used. I'm even paying for the dog leash. I have been made into an unwitting accomplice for some horrible, sickening things. And I need to hear some regret for that. Not from Rumsfeld. He didn't request, and receive, the $87 billion last year. George Bush did.
Someone needs to tell me why George Bush feels that King Abdullah of Jordan deserves an apology, but the American taxpayer does not. He doesn't work for King Abdullah. He works for us. And we need to remember that.
Tell everyone who will listen that not only were these crimes committed in our name, but also on our nickel. It won't make any difference to some, but this is not a time to keep silent and hope the story goes away.

3. Both ideas are very good! |
|
The first idea is very possible! Write your congress people and let them know! You can even write Reps from other states and leave your idea! Remind them also that as a taxpayer G W Bush works for you! I think it's a damned good idea, and it might even happen if enough people get behind it! I'm very sad about what has happened too!
Re: idea # 2. I doubt that would happen, but I like the idea very much!

So why would he think he needs to apologize to those who work for him?
