John McCain - Secretary of Defense?
Forgive me if this has already been talked about. Wouldn't McCain be the perfect pick for Bush?

2. Doubtful
They don't get along at all. McCain may stump for him occassionally, but make no mistake - that's just his loyalty to the party speaking.

3. Wouldn't McCain's loyalty to the party compell him
to step in?

7. No.
Making a speech every now and then and taking a job are two entirely different things.

4. nah, but he'd be a decent choice for Pres. Kerry
it's standard to have one member of the cabinet from the other party. How about Bill Clinton for Sec. of State? FREAKING AWESOME

5. If so, that would be good
Janet Napolitano = Democrat = Governor of Arizona = Senate seat.

6. It would be a good choice too for Bush because it would neutralize
a potential thorn in his side (helping Kerry or joining a Kerry admin) by bringing him to the bosom of Rome.

10. Ya know. . .
I've generally admired McCain for a lot of reasons, except of course when he's posing as an apologist for Bush.

But over the past several days and undoubtedly due to his experience as a POW, he's seemed more insensed by recent revelations than I've ever seen him.

When people often suggested him as a potential VP, I always was mindful of the fact that he was offered early release from the Hanoi Hilton and refused out of deference to the other less well connected prisoners, and thought, "this dude's a loyalist."

He may be feeling quite differently now.

11. McCain Just Called For Immediate Release Of ALL Prison Pics/Videos
McCain is ultra-conservative on too many issues for me to generally support him. But I think he has a sense of honor that really puts the Bush administration to shame by comparison. On CNN, they showed McCain's demand that ALL of the photos and videos now in the government's possession be made immediately available to the American public. He said that they will eventually be leaked to the public anyway. I think I see a gleam in McCain's eye lately. I think on a certain level he's enjoying the squirming of the Neocons infesting BU卐H and Company. I suspect that McCain as Defense Secretary and V.P. Cheney would not get along, as Cheney is the single greatest reason for the influence of the Neocons in the Bush administration.
