An army in Iraq to protect themselves from whom? No other countries |
|
posed a threat to Iraq except Israel and the US.

Without an army to defend itself Iraq would soon become a battleground of neighboring states-notably, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia and possibly even Jordan. The vacuum of an undefended Iraq would be filled in less then 30 days. No neighbor would trust the others not to invade and likely would do it simultaneously.
I hear you. Some of these countries are allies, Ha - like all nations they are self serving and will look after their national interests. It is in our interests to maintain balance and stability - something stupidhead didn't care about.

2. They seem to be doing a pretty good job of defending themselves |
|
against the US without an army.
