Florida town changes MLK street name
First the segrogated prom and now this. Is this a sign that we are going back in tim?

-CNN-

The city council of this central Florida town tried to settle a bitter, monthslong dispute by voting Monday to change Martin Luther King Avenue back to its original name of Sixth Avenue, while keeping up street signs with both names.

3. The town is Zephyrhills Florida and their number one industry...
...is bottled water. Maybe consumers who can voice their disapproval of this action and not buy Zephyrhills Water. As for backsliding on integration, this has been going on for some time in Florida, the most blatant example was the actions of Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush prior to the 2000 election with the purging of over a 100,000 registered voters (all democrats and mostly in minority counties) so they could not vote.

8. That Water is nasty!
And I'm not saying this just because I now dislike the people, that water really is horrible. It was the only water available for sale when we were at Universal Studios last summer on vacation. Like $3.50 for 12 ounces, but you needed it in that heat. I learned my lesson about visiting florida in August too :-)

5. I'd rather drink my own pee than Zypherhills!
Cuz obviously their water is tainted with something!!! I nearly drove of the road when I heard Neil read this story today. What in the HELL is wrong with this damn state????? South FloriDUH is an urban cesspool from hell, make NO mistake about it, but COMPARED TO NORTH AND CENTRAL FL!!!!!!! Oh my GODS, this area is Manhattan next to that crap! Like Brett Butler said best: "When nice places happen to stupid people!"

The town came to a compromise and put both names on the street sign. The advocate who had made a big deal about it, was satisfied with the solution.
