Thank you, Senator Byrd

During yesterday's hearings Senator Byrd delivered a scathing rebuke to the administration for requesting 25 Billion for Iraq and Afghanistan in essentially a "blank check" with no Congressional oversight. Amid the obligatory praise for "our troops" and repeated assurances from the committee that "we want to give you the money," he spoke plainly to the obviousness of the Administration's ploy to circumvent and undermine the Constitution once again.

It was distressing to see how frail he looked and sounded as he read from the Constitution.
