What states would Sharpton win? |
|
assuming that pigs everywhere are flying and he got the nomination, what would the electoral count be? Would he only get DC? I think he might also be able to get Maryland, since I believe it's the state with the highest black population that still votes Democratic in presidential elections and maybe New York (the moderate upstate Republicans who vote Dem in presidential elections probably won't here, so he could lose even that) but otherwise he'd be pretty screwed. and the popular vote would be around 70/30

He really does have some good ideas, but unfortunately, he's also a publicity hound and has associated himself with some very disreputable cases in the past.

4. Yeah, and DC would refuse to cast its electoral vote in order to protest.. |
|
the fact that they don't have two senators, so Sharpton would get 0 electoral votes.

6. Tawana Brawley Kills Him in NY |
|
Too many people in New York remember Sharpton's involvement in the Tawana Brawley case, and so he loses there too, I'm afraid.

7. Well with Rush's endorsement |
|
and yes, Rush Limbaugh has endorsed Sharpton, he could sweep. But only if Bush was the Republican nominee. Anyone will be able to beat Bush.

...in New York he can forget about large chunks of the Jewish vote, considering his past inflammatory, blame-the-Jew rhetoric. Oh yeah, and he can also forget about the atheist vote nationwide, considering that he's a preacher.

9. what is the point of this thread? |
|
Sharpton serves a purpose here and we need him. He will register more democratic voters than any other candidate in the race. Is it really nessesary to reiterate all the things that are wrong with him? Is this going to be another thread about Tawanna Brawly (and frankly some of you are hiding your racism behind an old tired charge).
I just don't see the point in this.
PS.... did someone actually suggest that Atheist will vote based on religious affiliation? I don't beleive most atheists will refuse to vote for someone because of their religion.

Any chance you could post some evidence to back up that charge? I have not seen any such nonsense here.
