Meet the Press Mccain worship...
I am going to hurl if I hear anymore of this Mccain idolizing by Democrats. Joe Biden practically begging him to be Kerry's VP choice. The guy is a Repuke and says so. He supports the unelected fascist bastard that is currently SQUATTING in our WH. Grrr....it just makes me nuts.

1. The advantage is that while they are wasting time with McCain, Kerry
can do a careful job of selection.

5. I like hearing the talk about McCain
Not that I want him for VP, but the talk makes Bush's claim that Kerry is partisan sound like the lie it is.

I remember when Kerry-Edwards matched against Bush-Cheney gave the Dems a better outcome than Kerry-Bush match ups.

That's why I think it's important for Kerry to make a big deal out of the selection process.

9. Kerry and Bush Are Non-Partisan?

"the talk makes Bush's claim that Kerry is partisan sound like the lie it is."

What's wrong with being partisan?

26. You've got a point
But the Repubs like to say that the Dems are partisan. The Repubs imply that they are never partisan.

3. Me too
There are democrats out there that are better than Mr. Woosie bush lover McCain. A real person would have dumped bush after what he did to him in NCarolina.

4. That was South Carolina
In which they impugned McCain with push-polling and inuendo. Crappy, but none the less, not a reason to consider him on our side.

15. You're so right
I can't figure out what Senator McCain is doing in the Republican party after being dissed so badly in South Carolina. I wrote and asked him, since he's my senator, but of course no answer. I think he's a genuine war hero but a social issues conservative so not a good fit for the Democratic party.

7. If McCain does anything it will be to run
as the repug candidate. We are very close to seeing * go down. The repugs have just enought time to pull McCain out of the hat and run him against Kerry.

13. It goes a long way
in explaining all the whoosh* backing votes from "D" house members the past few years.

Also explains the newly birthed "Democratic Wing" of the "D" Party . . . nuff said

12. McCain hates Rove and W ...
If he's not VP, he's Sec of Def under Kerry. McCain and Kerry have a personal friendship that goes back many years.

Even if McCain stumps the country for Bush/Cheney, he doesn't want them to win -- he's just covering his butt in Arizona politics.

18. Me either. That ticket would destroy the Democratic Party.
At least 1/4 of all Dems would jump ship.

One that I can live perfectly with, i'd rather see Kerry/McCain in the WH than 4 more years of this crap.

25. If the Democratic Party feels it has to co-opt a Republican
in order to justify or validate it's policies, it has lost it's sense of self. As much as I want Chimp out, I can't be a party to the wholesale selling out of our ideals. It begs the question: "Why not put a Republican at the top and the bottom of the ticket?"

11. I'm so angry I'm still shaking
Biden needs to resign from the Democratic party if he seriously thinks Kerry should have a Republican VP. He is part of the reason we are in sorry shape we are in today.

I'm sorry but this upsets me. It is like a slap in the face to us.

21. McCain and Biden both make me sick
This is the only GD thread with the name "McCain" in the subject line that I haven't yet X'd this morning. What is wrong with people???? The best of a bad bunch is STILL BAD. Now I'm going to X this thread too - nothing personal, but even seeing his name is messing up my quiet Sunday morning.

24. Hey, if Kerry wants a repuke running mate....
how about Tricky Dicky? So what if he's dead! But he was a real vote getter -- even won by a landslide in 1972 with the spectre of Watergate hanging over his head.

:puke: at the idea of a Kerry/McCain ticket. I guess they don't want progressives' votes next November.
