On a happier note... anyone else remember "That's My Bush!" ?? |
|
friend of mine sent me a DVD-R of it last week, I had forgotten how funny this was ... and in some aspects prophetic (grin)..
- George accidently declares war on another country. - George accidently loses a middle-east peace treaty. - George's physic says he's gonna be killed, so he outlaws guns (and faces down Charleton Heston)
and most of all...
- Cheney fabricates a crisis and forces George to resign so he can become president (and the show title changes to "That's My Dick!").
I had heard Comedy Central was supposed to release this during the summer as an 'Election Special', would love to see the 'deleted scenes' and such, but haven't heard about it lately (they 'fraid of something?)

1. Personally, I thought it was hilarious! |
|
CC claimed it was taken off the air because of the cost of producing each episode ($1M per), but I think Viacom (CC's parent company) yanked it because Shrub has NO sense of humor and demanded it be yanked.

3. You are probably correct. |
|
Besides, the real Bush* is a lot more inept.

2. Ratings After 9/11 Tanked Bad |
|
Comedy Central got a bunch of heat from advertisers and shelved the show after 9/11 (they scratched a plan to produce another 13 episodes).
I had video-taped the shows when they were first on, but it'd be great to have it on DVD...ideal for emailing segments to your favorite freeper.

particularly the ep with Babs Bush as a manipulating overbearing witch but I think the amount of people who dismiss Bush as blundering and/or stupid are missing the point - he's no brains' trust but it's not like he doesn't know that corporate cronyism and going to war to get control of oil reserves is something most Americans would agree with, I think he's considerably more scheming and personally vindictive than the hapless (but funny) Bush in 'That's My Bush'

5. I actually liked Bush in that show. Really. |
|
I thought he would make a much better President than the current doofus.
Comedy Central is probably just as scared as Disney is about getting backlash from the Bush Misadministration for releasing Michael Moore's movie. I think they're both probably waiting things out to see how likely it is that Bush will get booted back to Crawford in November. If/when it looks pretty obvious, they'll go for it.
