Ahhhhnold gets a "free pass"...just like Bush |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-11-03 11:07 AM by SoCalDem
He is at an event and is giving a speech, but is allowing NO QUESTIONS..
This is totally absurd.. He volunteered himself as an "option" to the people, and yet he seems to think (much like *) that he does not need to be questioned..
No doubt, his handlers have heard him ramble on, and their solution is to "cloister" him so that no one can actually ask him tough questions.. (what was I thinking?? reporters ??? ask tough questions???)..
The press is little more than a herd of excitement junkies.. They ricochet from story to story like some silly pinball machine, never staying long enough on one story to do more than give us a glimpse..
This is going to be Ahhhnolds modus operandi, folks... "I'll be bacccck".."Pump up Califorrrrnia"... "Hasta la vistaaaa, baybeee".. "Make my day"..(oops wrong movie ...but he may use it anyway)
no questions...move along..out of the governator's way, folks :)

2. Yep, I noticed that one |
|
of the CNN commentators noted that Arnold let his wife give the statement to the press about his running. The commentator said that that was brilliant because he gave the press some fresh news. I said to myself, oh, yeah, it's not because Arnold can't talk, right????

3. just like dubya (I refuse to say his name) |
|
says it exactly right
ahhhnold has received his script (from Rove? just like dubya)- No doubt, his handlers have heard him ramble on, and their solution is to "cloister" him so that no one can actually ask him tough questions.. (what was I thinking?? reporters ??? ask tough questions???).. except ahhnold may remember his lines better than dubya, although just like dubya, he says nothing, answers nothing, and IS nothing!
this makes me :puke:

4. Repukes pander and suck up to the press - Reagan started it. |
|
I recall reading that R.R. was the first candidate that started really catering to the press. On the campaign trail his people would set up banquets with expensive delicacies for the "boys on the bus" at the various hotels where they stayed. This lush treatment led them to view him in a more favorable light. Bush used the same technique to his advantage. The reformed boozer even used to mix margaritas for them in the back of the plane and play stupid games with them to show what a regular guy he was - and what a stiff Gore was who didn't hang out with the press at all - in fact, avoided them. Bush was accessible back then and he made thier jobs easier so they came to like him and they, through his sly manipulations, came to see Gore as a pointy headed bore. Its so pathetic when you think about it....

5. Arnold is much more of a pig than I'd realized. Anyone with integrity |
|
who believed in democratic institutions would be against the recall, simply on the basis that Davis was fairly elected 9 months ago (compare THAT election to the filthy way in which our "president" was awarded his office). Thus, his mere eager participation reveals not only his misunderstanding of democracy, but a very vulgar opportunism as well.
Because I liked the movie "Twins," I'd had a fairly benign image of Arnold. But his first few days as a candidate have revealed some very ugly things. I'm frankly amazed that anyone with his level of experience at being in the public eye, could do so badly in the early going.
I hope he continues to make these amateurish blunders -- so far, it seems not inconceivable to me that he could succeed in making a huge ass of himself in a delightfully public way.

6. I'm really pissed that he's being characterized as a womanizer |
|
From what I've read Arnold is a sexual predator and molestor.

Actually CNN's Bob Fraken tried to ask him questions when he filed on Saturday and he didn't answer them.
