Rumsfeld tries to get Senators to back off torture investigation
Sorry I don't have a link, but Judy Woodruff was discussing this on Inside Politics today. She said Rumsfeld met behind closed doors with Senators and complained to them that the Abu Ghraib investigation was taking too long, and keeping him and the generals away from what they needed to be doing. She didn't use the words "back off" but that was the definite impression she gave of his message.

Rumsfeld got the House committee to join in and jump on the Senate committee for pursuing the investigation. So far, it sounds like Warner's hanging tough, though.

I Googled, but didn't see anything in print about this yet.
