Anyone watching tonight's Nightline?
It's talking about women in the military... Lynndie England, Jessica Lynch, moms, etc... and how could women do evil things... should moms be serving... assimilation... bonding with the men... etc...

I smell another 80's style backlash against women... someone phone Susan Faludi.

1. Damn and I was hoping it would result in a 70's style backlash

against the military. How come things can never regress to the point where I want them to be.

3. If The Bitch Was Guilty
Why should it reflect more on you than the SOB that created the situation in the first place?

2. Women do evil things

the same way as men do.

Perhaps the instincts and statistics are a bit different - testosterone levels and brain differences and all that - but that's a group and frequency thing, not an individual one.

I think the reaction to women in the military is still out. Though the occupation has been bloody and deadly, women are still missing from combat units which bear the brunt, the so-called major combat in wars since women have been a factor has been rather short and casualties have been relatively light.

There may be a different judgment if large numbers of women are killed or maimed in a major action sometime.

4. I would say about the same here.
Maybe not the same % as men as we learn fast that we are on the lower step in many things. You have to recall we have come a long way. Look at it from my point of view. I could not get a loan when I got married, I could not get birth control informations in many states, I could not get a student loan as I had a husband who made money even if it was his and not mine, but he had the income and so I could not get a loan. I could go on but I will say I have met many mean and cruel women as I have men.

6. Another backlash against women?
So when did the last one end?

As for women serving in Iraq, to paraphrase Rosanne, why would any woman want to fight for an administration that treats her like a second class citizen?
