Something is fishy about Iraqi scandal
Edited on Tue May-25-04 06:31 AM by RC
Letter to Editor The Forum, Fargo ND

"I smell a big rat and it really stinks. The so-called Iraq prisoner scandal would not have existed if it weren't for the pictures, taken on digital cameras, of the various perpetrators posing in what could be interpreted as "abuser" positions with their various presumably unwilling victims. Strange that the taking of photographs in the Abu Ghraib prison was strictly prohibited.

Further, if you were a G. I. who could get years in the stockade for certain activity, would you document that activity by photograph? Yet these seven perpetrators and presumably their operational commander not only carried out the abuse but posed for the pictures during it.

On the other hand, if you were offered $1 million to be paid secretly after your sentence was served by someone who wanted to embarrass the Bush/U.S. defense establishment, maybe you would consider it. It is well known that billionaire George Soros has pledged and spent billions to get rid of Bush using whatever tactics will work. Isn't it possible that he or someone of his ilk has done precisely this by offering these seven or eight low-ranking soldiers the chance to get rich by creating a scandal?"

2. King George has his price, too...
... and he has proved it at fundraisers several days a week for every week since he took office.

Write the paper and ask this idiot for whom he plans to vote. That should be good for a laugh.

Wardens Chosen to Establish Iraq Prison System Had Past Abuse Allegations

May 20, 2004 — A number of former state prison commissioners chosen by the Bush administration to establish a prison system in Iraq left their old posts after allegations of neglect, brutality and inmate deaths, an investigation by ABCNEWS has found.

Last year, the former head of Utah's prison system, Lane McCotter, was hired by the U.S. government to help set up Iraq's new prison system and train guards.

He even led a tour of Abu Ghraib for U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, who attended the reopening of the Baghdad prison.

But in 1997, guards at a Utah prison, then under McCotter's charge, made a videotape showing the abuse of Michael Valent, a mentally ill inmate who allegedly would not follow orders.

9. Why, it's a camera!
Hmmmm... why all the top level imterest in this prison?

Ya got your rummies, perles and wolfies and who knows who, making public appearances at that hell-hole. Kinda makes ya wonder if the boy-king hisself didn't take a tour of the 'Dungeon' during his Thaksgiving day jaunt.

Let's see... there's all these warmongerers running DC, right? What bettter kick could a warmongerer get than seeing torture up close and personal? Their own little private show? Maybe even get in a punch or two themselves?

Nah, they wouldn't do that.... missiles and bombs from 10,000 feet? Sure. Getting their bloody hands dirty with the actual blood? Nah, they wouldn't do that. Would they?

4. We've spun crazier tin-hat crap...
...ourselves. Nut cases exist on both sides of the debate.

Logically though, if true, this does prove one thing. Since all soldiers are Republicans, or so out opponents would have you believe, and all soldiers love and support George Bush, or so our opponents would have us believe...this proves that they are Bush loving Republicans are so shallow and greedy that they would sell their own Mothers out for a stack of cash. Further...they know it true.

8. Conditioning people from viewing these type of images......
Edited on Tue May-25-04 06:52 AM by Fear
it might be far off, but something I found fascinating is that they all of a sudden popped up, could it be related to the fact that like Michael Moore has video footage?, and since that was there.....they wanted to prepare the people?......dunno, it is all very odd.

11. Not odd at all
The CIA, maybe even a Whitehouse Patriot, aired these photos.

The pentagon failed the containment and coverup. There is a secret war taking place in DC. There better be... the only way the * cabal is going to be defeated is if true American Patriots serving in our governement get off there asses and give us the Truth!

These pics are the Truth. Thanks to the real, Patriotic Mikes of the USA, the Truth escaped the coverup and containment.

7. Or maybe someone IN the Bushco neocon group wants to inflame
the Middle East to induce an all out war (see PNAC agenda).

Either way, I agree, that something is fishy both with the prison thing AND with the Berg beheading video. Something doesn't ring true........although I do believe that they ARE capable of these abuses.

12. This is just silly
Soros somehow obtains the names of the guards and tells them he will give them a million dollars to murder, rape and torture helpless Iraqis, strip naked and have group sex, ruin their reputations and careers, and they all agree! Not a single one comes forward and says, Hey, some guy just ofered me a million bucks to do all these horrible, sickening, immoral, and illegal things.

You know, this is so stupid. The victims say it was done to them, some of the perpertrators admit to doing it, eye witnesses say they did it, photographic evidence confirms they did it, and the crimes were even captured on video. People need to get out of denial and accept the truth.

13. This is the kind of thinking...
... that lets the rest of the world know what a shitcan of idiots live in this country.

Never mind that there is already PROOF that this activity was condoned at the highest levels, never mind that in such a situation there would be no guarantee you would EVER see the outside of a prison again, some people are so deep in denial they will create any kind of scenario, no matter how improbable and no matter how impossible to pull off (we're not supposed to notice all these sudden millionaires?) and no matter how abjectly the absence of ANY evidence of any kind to avoid facing reality for themselves or their off-the-rails leader.

Truly pathetic.

15. Who ever in their wildest imagination dreamed that they'd get
busted when the the U.S. government said it was all right and approved by the Commander in Chief? That's one way to think about it.

The interaction between contacting generals from the Pentagon and the privates that distorts the actions of Abu Ghraib from a planar shape, is quite interesting and is also called capillary action. In other words it goes from the bottom to the top.
