We New Yorkers are used to seeing out city destroyed. It is Hollywood's favorite target! It is also one of the most recognizable cities in the world (even though most scenes of New York are actually filmed in Canada).

Trust me, we just are not that "sensitive." We understand that as an internation capitol, we are always going to be a real and fictional target.

8. Oh jeez, the critics AND the "eco-freaks" should lighten up !!!

It's called SCIENCE FICTI0N, sweeties - with emphasis on the fiction.

Did everything in the H.G. Wells novels come to fruition in the real world in the exact way written? Nope.

Will global warming result in a world catastrophe such as depicted in the movie? Nope. If anything, devastating effects from global warming will occur very very slowly (for decades/centuries) with most of us not knowing it until it's too late.

It's like the proverbial tale of the frog in a pot of water. The frog will jump out to safety if it's dropped into boiling water. But if you turn up the temperature ever so slowly, the frog gets used to the water and doesn't realize it's boiling - until too late.

IMO, when the world as we know it ends, it will not be with a bang but a whimper.

So shut up, enjoy the movie as science fiction entertainment - and don't puke on my popcorn.
