Missing 2000 pages. Smoking gun on Rumsfeld?
from the NY Times.

<snip>
On Capitol Hill on Monday, the Senate Armed Services Committee said the Army had promised to deliver about 2,000 pages of supporting documents missing from copies of General Taguba's report that was sent to Congress earlier this month.

Pentagon aides have described the omission as an administrative oversight. But Senate officials said the missing documents included about 200 pages from Colonel Pappas's sworn statement, including a document titled, "Draft Update for Secretary of Defense."

1. Yep an administrative oversight
just like the removal of 2000 pages from what Iraq submited to the UN.

There lies the smoking gun... or in this case the artillery piece

2. Gee, last Friday they said they were sending the pages right over
And they haven't arrived yet? Don't they have any bicycle messengers or taxi cabs in Washington DC? I can get 2,000 pages across town in two hours with one phone call!

By the way, was that an update on the military draft, or the draft of an update for Rumsfeld they were talking about in the document "Draft Update for Secretary of Defense"?

5. Like With Trembling Hands
says "What matters most, what signifies?
Journalists used to look for the smoking gun, but this time we have the cannons of Waterloo, we have Gettysburg and Sevastopol, we have enough gun smoke to cause asthma in heaven."
