Poll question: How much of a bump will the new terra threat give *?
Edited on Wed May-26-04 02:56 PM by Timefortruth
CNN is having a fest now about how much more than Kerry Americans trust Chimp to protect us from the terrorists. Everyone here knows that is the reason the new terralert was given, but are they playing this card too soon?Or are we going to be on alert nonstop until the election in the same way we were in the build-up to the invasion.

1. I can't vote because I think this one will cost them votes
It's more wolf crying and the American Public is aware of the number of wolf crying incidents.

BTW, someone should tell CNN that Bush's advantage on the terrorism issue is vanishing.

15. I agree, people are starting to realize that this "threat level"
stuff is worse than useless. I even heard someone on CNN commenting to that effect last night.

2. IMO "No Bump"

The public should realize that Bush is not keeping us safe from this threat.
If anything, Bush is the terrorist and he should resign immediately.I am shaking in my boots that Ashcroft is "doing all that he can do to keep us safe." That is a sombering thought.

4. No bump...
I think it's stupid to think that every terror alert will result in a bump for Bush. In fact, I would suggest the opposite will be true.

When people hear "Al-Qaeda Wants to Strike the US", they'll probably think "Wasn't Bush supposed to be taking care of this???"

8. I added that choice.
But I don't think it is stupid to think it will help Bush.

5. This Could Very Well Hurt Bush More Than Help
His approvals on fighting terrorism were his only good numbers (over 50% approvals). These warnings remind everyone how vulnerable we are and that he is incapable of actually protecting us.

That is of course if it's not actually a set up for busting up a terror plot, which is entirely possible.

10. No Bump
Everyone that I've talked to believes this to be another "Crying Wolf" scenario. And I live in a conservative area.

Maybe some morans will wake up to the fact that not only did invading Iraq have nothing to do with the so called "War On Terror" but it is actually making us less safe.

14. None
These imaginary terra threats are beginning to wear thin with the public and they are not likely to pay any attention to whether bush* is doing his job better or not.
