Update on neighbors (sloane and jo-anne)
Edited on Mon May-31-04 08:08 AM by liberalitch
Remember the seal-wife I told you guys about whose hubby was wounded in iraq?
Here's the latest:
He's in Kuwait, in a military hospital.
He still has a drain in his lung, has no spleen and now 8 toes instead of 10 (he told his wife that's good enough for homer simpson, it's good enough for him).
She will leave with his mom for germany to meet him this week, then he's coming home!
Jo-anne told him that we were the only ones who took care of her until her (also liberal) sister arrived from Long Island and that she went to a John Kerry meet up.... sloane said (with medication kicking in) Hmmm navy man, I decided a few weeks ago to vote for him. She told me last night with a big smile "we belong together, we've always changed and grown alike and together... since 7th grade." WOW! I had no idea they were childhood sweethearts... I am SO glad he lived.

Oh, BTW, Thanks... i could feel the love on DU!

2. Very glad to hear he is coming home
I hope his recovery is a complete one!

My Navy brother, who told me he voted for Bush last time, vowed to vote Democrat this time too!

4. Am glad that he is improving
and glad that you (and your other neighbor) were able to give her comfort, when others turned their backs. I wish them the best.

Thanks for sharing the followup.
