A Kerry Convoy
Okay, so I'm sitting in traffic today, which is backed up for miles due to an accident. I hear honking behind me and get annoyed because there's not a damn thing I can do to speed this up, but I ignore it. The honking persists, so I look in my rear-view mirror and see someone giving me the thumbs-up. Confused, I turn around and try to figure out what they guy is going on about, and I see him pointing at my vehicle. I'm still confused but realize he's pointing at my window. So, tentatively, I point to my "Lick Bush, Beat Dick" bumper sticker I had placed there. He nods vigorously. I give him the thumbs up back, and we share a moment.

All this time I had been following a truck with a "Kerry for President" bumper sticker, which I'd noticed before. Inspiration struck, and I decided to do the honking thing myself. I'm bored and barely moving, so why not. The guy in front of me and I eventually share the same moment after the confusion is resolved.

So I turned around again and got that guy's attention, pointed in front of me, gave another thumbs up. He honked. I honked. The guy in front of me honked and waved out his window.

It was all quite thrilling actually, especially since this was in Oklahoma City, the armpit of freeperville.

1. I might've shared this before
my 79 year old Dad has a small Kerry sticker on his cane. He doesn't drive anymore but he wants everyone to know where he stands and who he will vote for. By the way he uses his cane as he walks up to receive holy communion-ain't been excommunicated yet.

3. Great stories!
Loved the convoy story and the one about your Dad's cane, too.

Thanks to both of you for posting them! :)

4. That is totally cool...
Reminds me of my grandma a bit. She had her leg amputated from diabetes complications and was rather depressed by it. To try to cheer her up, I started putting stickers and other decorations on her wheelchair. She complained about it, but you could tell she actually liked it because she'd get testy with people who tried to mess with them.

Anyway, at one point I was holding some Clinton bumper stickers while talking to her, and she asked where hers was. So, she got one. :-)
