Alabama elects former aide of Roy Moore to Supreme Court
I know this might be moved but I believe this is important enough to be said in the GD. Tom Parker former aide to Roy Moore has been elected the Repuke nomination for Supreme Court justice. While he still has to face a Dem in the general, considering this state he will more than likely be elected. This sucks.

Roy Moore is going to speak at his victory party.

2. Actually, this sets up an interesting race in the fall
Robert Smith is a good candidate who can win a lot of the "business" wing voters from the "moderate" repubs. The defeat of Jean Brown, personally, does not bother me too much because she has never cared much for average people.

The race is on. Support Robert Smith. http://www.roberthsmith.com/

3. Thanks for the link.
I hope you are right. Alabama does not need Parker on the bench.

4. No problem
It will be difficult no matter what because straight-ticket voting will hurt, but the Court races are the best bets we have.

6. According to an Alabama Lawer on another board that I used to frequent...
This guy on the Internet Infidels Discussion Board is a lawyer in Alabama, and even argued a few cases in front of Moore. He said that while Roy Moore was a batshit crazy fundie, he was also very pro-consumer. The Buisness wing Repukes were not all too fond of him. As SEpatriot has said, I don't think that the Alabama Buisnesspeople are going to want a puppet of Moore who may run the risk of being another pro-consumer judge.

7. interesting
I have a family court case that may be going before the Alabama Supreme court -- we have a Writ of Certiori (sp?)

That's an invitation for the court to have a look at our case and rule as to whether the lower court pulled a fast one.. they've written a bad law designed to screw ME personally.. I'm amazed and flattered..

but the law they wrote is so bad that drug dealers could get off and escape prosecution due to recordings made that a mother did not consent to vicariously..

wonder if they will pick it up.. I need more lawyers and to not go before bozos like this..

wish me luck, AL has been after me for years...
