i'm working on a potentially useful kerry convert... |
|
Edited on Wed Jun-02-04 01:07 AM by soggy
my best friend from college has always been such a bush robot, which is so weird because we've seen eye to eye on everything but politics and had such great discussions on so many things. with politics, she's just never shown ANY interest... but somehow, some waaay, she's managed all this time to think bush is SMART! and not just smart as in "having the iq necessary to not die eating snack foods", but as in "smart enough to make sound decisions that will alter the path of the free world"...
well i think she's finally starting to come around. i've been getting emails from her suggesting her opinion for the prez. may be souring. why i think that could be potentially useful is that she's also producer for a news station in charleston, sc. i don't even know if sc's in play, but it's gotta be better than texas!

2. Add to that all the cuts to Vet Services |
|
and also cuts to benefits of Active Troops
Heck, tell her that we do not have bullets for troops over there, let alone food, medical supplies, or body armor or armor for the vehicles.
But how bad can things be when there are NO bullets for the troops in theater.

4. Then tell her how much the privatized quasi-military will add up to |
|
Do we have any statistics for this? What is the profit-margin for the Halliburtons, while our own military is underfunded?
Why hasn't there been more interest in the fact that Paul Bremer was guarded by PRIVATE security guards, like a freaking ROCK STAR, instead of by AMERICAN MILITARY. And the fact that these MERCENARIES make THOUSANDS a day, as private contractors.
There is not enough money for OUR TROOPS because HALLIBURTON NEEDS TO MAKE A PROFIT.
That's crony capitalism. That's privatization. That's corporatism.

6. Oh and that chain of supply is so broken that ships |
|
on the line were getting viable substitutes.
Ten pallets of lima beans for ten pallets of food. Thankfully command did not like it, pulled the vessel off the line and to Bahrain... where they fed the Marines... who were getting MREs for three meals a day.
Oh yes Halliburton programed meal time at the time those troops were ON WATCH.

the economic harm that has occurred over the last 4 years compared to the incredible prosperity that we saw under Clinton. We where not heading into a recession when Bush took over.

8. I love hearing stuff like this |
|
because if she's souring on him and she used to think he could do no wrong, you know there are others out there souring on him the same way.
Good luck in your converting! :toast:
