1. The Academy is not in Denver, and if he even landed in Denver,
it was probably to get into a helicopter to Colo Spgs..

He is very careful about his "venues"..

4. He did land in Denver
and apparently rode to Colorado Springs in a black limousine. They showed an aerial shot of what looked like downtown, completely deserted because they had blocked off the streets. I was amazed that they let these few protestors line whatever street they were on.

3. Some protestors lined the motorcade route
and yelled as it went by. I was amazed to see this on 7 News last night. It didn't look like there were too many - maybe a few dozen people, and I'm betting there were a lot more somewhere else.

5. I didn't count how many of us where there, but it was a good crowd
I'm not much into numbers anyway, so that wasn't what I was paying attention to. :) I posted this on the Colorado forum, but I don't thik many people read that.

The organizer was young, and did an excellent job of putting the Denver demonstration together.

I got there with a friend about 5:30pm, and we didn't see anyone around, so I even wondered if we were on the wrong street corner. :) Then a few other people came along, wondering the same thing, so we figured we were in the right place. Then we saw a large group of people with signs coming along the street, and it took off from there. At one point, we had a lot of people and signs on 5 corners (another street comes into that intersection).

The biggest problem was the cops. There were cops all over, and when they wanted to move people off the one corner, they got quite beligerant. This was a *very* peaceful group, and they just strong-armed and escalated right from the get-go, and I was quite unhappy to see that, and have a call into Cop Watch about it. From now on, I will only go to demonstrations where I know that Cop Watch will be present, and I suggest others do the same. We're seeing a growing police problems.

It was very heartening how many cars went by honking, giving the peace sign, and waving! We realized that we were cheering many people who were against the war, and feeling rather alone with it...... seeing a large crowd cheered them up.

I've heard many reports that Dumbya keeps himself insulated from anything negative, but it was clear, when the motorcade went by, that people at the windows were looking out at us, so he had to have a clue. :)

The several minutes later all the people who were at his fundraiser came by, and made a point of honking and giving us the finger. Lots and lots of people with their digits in the air. What an intelligent response.

Except for the cops, it was a good experience, and it was good to see that many people out there on such short notice. I even talked with a couple who were there from California. :) :hi:

10. Didnja just *looove*
in the article with that picture, the reporter (Owen S. Good), said:

"The president provokes his opposition to temper tantrums of such comprehensive scope, it was a challenge for demonstrators to boil down to a few words what it is about him that should tick off the rest of the country, too."

That was a very peaceful, and rather mellow crowd. To use the term "temper tantrums" is quite annoying. We've definitely lost the media.

13. * was in Co. Sp.?
I think my husband told me he was going to be, but I didn't know it was today (or would that be yesterday?). I'll ask him if he heard anything about the visit since he is stationed out there.
