1. There is a coordinated effort to brainwash Christians in Ohio.
All the fundies I know in Ohio have rationalizations for rape, torture and murder, and say things like "Kerry is of the devil".

2. I think Kerry will win Ohio
Edited on Wed Jun-02-04 04:06 PM by lancdem
His numbers will improve when his share of the Dem vote solidifies. He's not getting 76 percent of Dems in Ohio, believe me. BTW, this is an improvement over the Mason-Dixon poll that had Bush with a 6-point lead.

5. But it is a drop from last Month Kerry lead of 45 to 41 over Bush
At lease in the Rasmussen polling world.

3. I don't trust Rasmussen
I don't know much about their state polls, but their national poll doesn't have the best track record.

Does Zogby do states? I think historically Zogby has been the most accurate.

8. After nailing 2000, Zogby has failed in 2002
and the Dem primaries horribly.

Rasmussen blew 2000 big in favor of bush, and he has now supposedly adjusted his formulas to be more accurate.

This year I'm keeping Zogby and Rasmussen pretty low on the totem poll of reliability.

4. ARG has Kerry leading
Just looked up ARG's Ohio poll and they have Kerry 50, Bush 43 taken May 10-12. Kerry's numbers are lower with Nader involved, but 50-43 with no Nader.

7. Those Wacky May Ohio Polls!!!
Cleveland Plain Dealer, May 20-25:

Bush: 47
Kerry: 41
Nader: 3

The poll, conducted May 20-25 by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research of Washington, D.C., is based on interviews with 1,500 registered voters who plan to vote in November. The poll, which has a margin of error of 2.6 percentage points, is the largest presidential poll taken in Ohio this year.

American Research Group, May 10-12:

Kerry: 49
Bush: 42
Nader: 2

These results are based on 600 completed telephone interviews among a statewide random sample of likely voters in Ohio. Of the 600 likely voters, 38% consider themselves to be Republicans, 40% consider themselves to be Democrats, and 22% consider themselves to be independents. The interviews were conducted May 10 through 12, 2004. The theoretical margin of error for the total sample of 600 is plus or minus 4 percentage points, 95% of the time, on questions where opinion is evenly split.

9. It would be interesting to see those results by region.
I know my part of the state is pretty much GOP. I even saw hommade anti-Democratic stuff on a pickup truck, once.

If Kerry wins this state, well, Id be really suprised.

10. Waverley... you gotta read the Ohio Forum.
I'm personally impressed with the quality of staff Kerry has placed in Ohio.

Please read this thread in the Ohio Forum... it's about the first, official Cincinnati Volunteers for Kerry meeting. Both ritc2750 and I attended the meeting, and offer our recaps here:

I have 100% faith that Kerry will take Ohio. I'm going to work my ass off to bring about that eventuality.
