What would have happened if Iraq had been permitted to switch to "euro"?

What would have happened if Iraq had been permitted to switch to "euro"?
Reportedly, this was part of Saddam's plan. No longer would he use the "dollar" as the benchmark or means of currency for his oil revenues. How would that have affected world markets if it had happened?
