To: hattend
October surprise. By then all the preliminaries will be worked out and there will be something like the video testimony Clinton did. Just another in a long list of pinprick assaults on Bush since 2000..

<snip>

Guess we're not the only ones worried about an October Surprise...

33. ...Who is this "Hugh" guy and how does he sound?
The word "hugh" is used over there as a joke. It is an intentional misspelling of the word "huge".

They also use the word "series" in place of the word "serious".

It's supposed to be funny I guess.
Do you need to have only half a brain to find it so?
One wonders.

16. Impeachment
This could be the first indication that the president has committed an impeachable offense. Shades of Watergate! The problem then was that they managed to control the thing until after the election and then it took two more years to get rid of the Ass**** Looks like this is coming at about the same time in the election cycle but maybe things will move a bit faster this time.

17. here ya go ... story time! :)
<< WASHINGTON - President Bush has consulted an outside lawyer in case he needs to retain him in the grand jury investigation of who leaked the name of a covert CIA operative last year, the White House said Wednesday.

There was no indication that was a target of the leak investigation, but the president has decided that "in the event that he needs his advice," he would retain him," White House deputy Claire Buchan.

The attorney is Jim Sharp, she said, confirmed a report by CBS News.

"The president has said that everyone should cooperate in this matter and that would include himself," Buchan said.

She deflected questions about whether Bush had been asked to appear before a grand jury in the case. >>

No link of course, but stole it anyway ... :D

18. yeeeeeehawwww, the possibilities are endless at this point
Valerie Plames' name will go down in history. *hires an outside attorney. Remember his "I don't testify" remark? Well, in front of a grand jury, dickless won't be able to hold his hand and the boy will kill himself. He can't keep all the lies straight.

20. Always humorous reading over there.

As grasswire has sagely pointed out, if the media is liberal, why did conservatives work to do away with the Fairness Act?

Think about it. If they were sure the media was inclined to treat them unfairly, why do away with an act requiring equal time for diffferent political views? Their hero Reagan was the one to do away with it and they have fought against having it reinstated.

No, they hate the media because it occasionally tells the truth and the truth sometimes bites them in the butt. Of course, they were also programmed to believe in the "liberal media" myth by Rush and others repeating it over and over. It was a deliberate campaign. I'm trying to remember the name of the jerk who started it (and eventually admitted that he knew it was a lie from the beginning.) I hate it when I can see a quote in my mind's eye but the name is out of focus. Can anyone here remember who that was?

I don't know how anyone with critical thinking skills can watch the media and think it's liberal.

"Has everyone forgotten that Bush is about to go overseas, where he KNOWS there will be people there who want to kill him? Some people like handle probate and other issues under these kinds of circumstances."

I'm sure the Pres of the USA, a Bush billionaire, hasn't yet made up a will and needs to do one on the fly.
Of course - that must be it. Case closed.
Wow, I'd be screaming laughing if I wasn't stunned at the stupidity.

28. "tempest in a teapot"?
No.. freeper dears.. it's called treason, and it's a felony. And.. I won't relax until Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Scooter Libby, and Robert Novak are among the 1% of Americans in prison.

Those threads are so funny to read.. because some people there are unaware that the career freepers know better than to sound alarmed by this.. as though the whole point of freeperland is to pretend that this stuff is no big deal. I'm also struck by the inarticulate nature of those folks. I'm still baffled by the whole "leftist media" thing.. but I suppose ALL multi-billion dollar, GOP donating, Bush ass-kissing, media companies are leftists.. right?
